Plans submitted for new 80-bed Skegness Travelodge and Starbucks Drive-Thru

Plans have been submitted to East Lindsey District Council for an 80-bed Travelodge hotel and Starbucks drive-thru on the site of a former crazy golf course. The plans will form a £7million investment in Skegness, with the proposed site on South Parade.

The Travelodge hotel will offer 80 beds, with a proposed bar/restaurant on the fifth floor that will offer panoramic views of the beach and coastline. Travelodge estimates the new hotel will bring more than £2.6million a year to Skegness and the wider Lincolnshire economy.

A total of 88 parking spaces will be provided on the site, as well as new charging stations for electric cars. 30 new jobs will be created thanks to this major investment.

The investment is planned by The Burney Group, whose managing director, Daren Burney, said: “I am delighted that we have submitted plans for a new Travelodge and Starbucks in South Parade, Skegness, representing an investment of £7million. pounds in the city. Both companies have long wanted a presence in Skegness and the former site of the crazy golf course is perfect for them. They will trade exceptionally well there, creating over 30 jobs when they open.

“With the planning application submitted to East Lindsey District Council, I look forward to working with officers, councilors and the community to bring these established global brands to Skegness,” he added. Recent Burnley Group projects include a 56-bed Travelodge hotel in Boston.

The location of the proposals is on the site of a crazy old golf course. Closed since 2018, the proposals will transform a site located a few meters from the Aquarium and close to the seafront.

A website has been created to provide more information on the proposals. Anyone interested in learning more can view the plans at
