Movements in commercial law

Special advice Symoane Mercurio was elevated to director of commercial law firm Cowell Clarke, which made six promotions to kick off the new fiscal year.

Along with Mercurio’s promotion comes its continued involvement with the COVID-19 Mediation Panel of the Office of the Small Business Commissioner of SA.

Cowell Clarke, who grew into a team of around 100 commercial lawyers after it was formed in 1989, also promoted five other Adelaide lawyers – Amanda Brady, Andrew Bullock, Cassie Burfoot, Emma Peters and Peter Healey – to special adviser .

Managing Director Rob Comazzetto said the series of promotions recognized the “high level of technical skills, business acumen and leadership” of the six lawyers.

“We are entering a new financial year with an optimistic and confident outlook,” he said.

“We have strong teams that respond to current and future challenges and opportunities. “

Meanwhile, Adelaide’s law firm Piper Alderman has promoted a longtime senior partner Jonathan dodd to the role of real estate partner.

Dodd has worked for the Franklin Street-based company since 2006 and specializes in hospitality and tourism, alcohol and gambling licensing and rental agreements.

Piper Alderman also awarded promotions to Adelaide Special Counsel Eilish Gigney and partner Isabelle Gatley in time for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.
